and Commercial Construction – involves representing owners,
contractors, suppliers, architects and engineers in perfecting,
foreclosing and defending mechanic’s liens and construction disputes
in both public and private contracts.
Real Estate
Real Estate
– involves advising, documenting, and litigating transactions (for
both buyers and sellers) involving real estate, e.g., purchase or
sale of property, development, leasing, condominium and homeowners’
association issues, residential and commercial landlord-tenant
matters (evictions), title curative issues arising in closings,
boundary line disputes and generally all other matters related to
the acquisition and ownership of real estate.
General Civil Litigation
General Civil Litigation – involves pursuing
and defending debts, Deceptive Trade Practice Act cases, and general
contractual and business disputes.
Creditor’s Rights
Creditor’s Rights – involves actions to collect debts in both
state courts and bankruptcy courts.
Business/Corporate
Business/Corporate – involves forming business entities
(e.g., corporations, limited partnerships, and limited liability
companies), advising ongoing businesses, documenting acquisitions
and dissolutions, negotiating and drafting contracts.
Estate and Probate
Estate and Probate – involves drafting and
probating wills and matters incidental to them.
Mediation
Mediation – Mr. Newman has a significant mediation and
arbitration practice. He is a certified mediator by virtue of his
training with the American Arbitration Association.
